The hidden assumption

The question assumes technology uniformly destroys career stability, when it destroys some careers, transforms others and leaves a few largely intact, so the answer cannot be uniform.

When a technology eliminates the underlying need, the way digital photography ended most film-processing work, no retraining scheme can save the original career, and pretending policy can hold back that tide is its own fantasy. This concedes that technology sometimes is the decisive variable. But even here the structural point holds for the worker rather than the job: whether the film technician faces destitution or a funded path into a new field is still decided by institutions, so technology may kill the specific career while structure decides whether a stable working life remains realistic for the person.

What is the best Singapore evidence here?
